Sydney to host World Masters Games

Games fever will grip Sydney again in 2009 when the former Olympic city hosts the World Masters Games.
Sydney had beaten its main rivals Copenhagen, Denmark and Japan's Shiga Prefecture to stage the amateur event, NSW Deputy Premier Andrew Refshauge said today.
The non-elite sporting event for the over 30s, held every four years, was expected to attract about 30,000 local and international athletes to Sydney from October 10 to 18, 2009.
